Transporting motorcycles in a fixed way
The norelem ACADEMY once again supported a project at the technical college in Munich.
The students developed a lightweight fixation system with which a variable number of motorbikes can be secured to standard trailers.
The technicians used numerous standardised components from norelem, including indexing plungers, with the help of which the cross struts or rails of the frame can be adjusted to the width of the trailer (1.4 m to 2.1 m). Spacer rings compensate for thread depths. The device is simply clamped onto the trailer without screws and using the corner elements. The lightweight fixation system is quick to assemble and disassemble, as the individual segments are connected to each other using plug-in connections and hooks and can be released again using mushroom knobs.
The motorbikes are positioned on the trailer with front wheel holders. The holders consist of aluminium profiles, profile sliders with clamping lever and cam levers and can be adjusted to different wheel sizes in a few simple steps; to do this, they are moved and clamped on the cross strut and variably locked in the profile guide. Unused holders can be easily removed. Finally, tensioning straps ensure that the motorbikes are securely fastened to the system and, thanks to the flexible design, almost all types of motorbike can be loaded safely.
